July 2011LUZ to present
at the FIT XIX World Congress
Join our session to learn more about
the role of the translator as part of a standards-based translation environment.
Many
language services providers seek certification (ISO 9001 and 13485) to establish
their quality systems and meet client requirements. Translators are key contributors
and play a fundamental role in enabling quality processes.
Kristen Corridan,
Manager of Quality and Procurement, will present about standards, including relevant
quality concepts, such as traceability, risk management, competency, training,
and improvement, and how these concepts relate to translators. In addition, the
presentation will provide specific examples to highlight the progression of translations
through the quality system and the positive impact of added quality.
This
year's FIT (International Federation of Translators) congress will take place
in San Francisco, California, at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square from August
1-4. For more information about the event and the complete session
overview, please refer to the conference
Website.
If you are a translator or involved in the translation process,
including quality assurance, please attend this session to learn more about the
role of the translator in a standards-driven translation environment.
